Missouri Young Democrats is a Political Action Committee registered with the Missouri Ethics Commission. Our principal place of operations is in Missouri, United States.

  • Slack: Workspace activity, channel membership, and message data within our organizational workspace

We generally do not request sensitive personal information such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions beyond party affiliation, religious beliefs, health information, or sexual orientation. However, as a political organization, we do collect information about your political interests and activities as they relate to Democratic Party involvement.

If you voluntarily provide sensitive information (for example, in open-ended form fields or communications), we will treat it with appropriate care and use it only for the purposes for which it was provided.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

3.1 Organizational Operations

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Email delivery through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES)

  • ActBlue: Donation processing platform

  • Vercel/Netlify/Squarespace: Website hosting services

  • Google Workspace: Email, document collaboration, and organizational tools

  • Slack: Team communication platform

  • Apple: Digital wallet pass delivery

  • Zapier/Make.com: Workflow automation services

  • Analytics providers: Website and email analytics

4.3 Legal Requirements

As a Political Action Committee registered with the Missouri Ethics Commission, we are required to report certain donor information to the relevant state authorities.   • Delivery Tracking: We monitor whether emails are successfully delivered, bounced, or marked as spam.

This information is associated with your email address and used to:

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

8. DATA RETENTION

8.1 Retention Periods

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including:

  • Active Membership Records: Retained while you are an active member and for a reasonable period afterward to allow for membership renewal

  • Donation Records: Retained permanently as required by federal campaign finance laws and for tax purposes

  • Email Subscriber Data: Retained until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record to honor your opt-out

  • High School Democrats of Missouri: High school students (typically ages 14-18)

  • College Democrats of Missouri: College and university students

10.2 Parental Consent

For members under the age of 18, we may require parental or guardian consent for certain activities. Parents or guardians of minor members may contact us to review, modify, or delete their child's information.

10.3 Children Under 13

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
